Elgin - Association Park : Map credit National Library of Scotland Elgin City football club was formed on 10th August 1893 from the amalgamation of Elgin Rovers and Vale of Lossie. The club made Association Park their home ground.

The first bicycle racing at the ground was at the Morayshire Cycle Club annual sports on 16th September 1893. The weather was wet in the morning, but cleared up in the afternoon, resulting in a "numerous and enthusiastic" crowd. The one mile safety handicap had nine competitors and resulted in a win for ASG Anderson of Aberdeen, he repeated his victory in the two miles novices race. JJ Mackenzie of AVRE CC was an easy winner of the three mile open handicap and the five miles scratch amateur championship. There was also a one mile club handicap race.

The meeting was repeated in 1894 when over fifty cycling competitors rode in a cavalcade across the town to the gates of the ground. There were a thousand spectators who paid their sixpence entrance fee to watch the racing. The grass track was laid out at seven laps to the mile and the Banffshire Journal commented that the course "must have proved an uncomfortable ride to fellows used to plain and level ground." Of the five bicycle top event of the meeting was the five miles scratch championship race, which was won by William Yule of Aberdeen CC, he also won the two miles handicap race.

Bicycle racing at Association Park seemed to end after 1894, which was when Milnefield Park grass track opened and bicycle racing moved there. Elgin City FC left Association Park at the start of the 1909-10 season and moved to a new ground at Station Park. The ground has since been redeveloped and is now the site of an Asda superstore
